DRWG 208 S001: Drawing: Studio

This studio course provides students with focused studio time to explore perceptual and conceptual approaches to drawing. Using a variety of materials, tools and techniques, students will explore observation-based methods to build hand-eye coordination. Experimental and process-related approaches to drawing will be incorporated to expand students' understanding of what a drawing can be. Activities include working from the life model, collaborative exercises, and engaging in historical and contemporary research. Discussions and individual/group critiques develop critical and analytical skills. The curriculum will include a variety of approaches such as: readings, artist presentations, and field trips.

Completion of 21 credits
