SCIE 201 S001: Perception + Science

In this introduction to the visual sciences, students will examine how the scientific method is used in this field. Students will discuss different conceptual approaches to understanding perception with topics drawn from physics, experimental psychology, and biology. Topics will include the nature of light; sensation in the eye; how colour, shape, depth, and faces are processed by the brain; gestalt principles; visual illusions; attention; and memory.
