Livingspace Creates Industrial Design Scholarship

Since Ross Bonetti established Livingspace in 1988, it has grown to become Vancouver's premier destination for European modern furniture.  During this time, Mr. Bonetti has also become known as a community supporter, and for assisting Emily Carr Industrial Design students through scholarships and work study placements.

In the fall of 2011, this relationship deepened when Livingspace moved its showroom into the old Mitchell Press building, the same building that houses Emily Carr's MAA studios.

It was no surprise that when Livingspace held its spectacular La Dolce Vita fundraising event in August, Livingspace's relationship with Emily Carr students was in the forefront of Bonetti's mind.

Scholarship Honors Artist Walter Jaager

Posted: Wed, 2012-04-04 18:46

When Evaleen Jaager Roy joined Emily Carr’s Board of Governors - first as Director and then as Board Chair - she brought with her expertise and enthusiasm for business, philanthropy and higher education.

But it is Evaleen’s love and respect for her family, combined with her commitment to the university, which inspired her, together with her husband Peter Roy, to create a scholarship in her father’s name earlier this year. The “Walter Jaager Excellence in Painting Scholarship” will provide an annual $1,000 scholarship to the student with the highest academic placement within the painting program.
