Sylvia Borda

Sylvia Grace Borda is an artist and academic working in the field of Photography and Digital Media. The last decade has seen her work progress to an international level, with exhibitions in the UK, Canada, Taiwan and the USA, alongside several high-profile public art commissions.  

Sylvia’s practice has developed and expanded during this period, addressing a range of themes from the emergence of new media art and semantics, to the contemporary roles of social media and public art. Her work seeks to expand the boundaries for public art, redefining its form, function and relevance to meet new challenges. She places particular emphasis on social media’s potential for community-building and encouraging community engagement. Sylvia emphasizes the innovative potential for the arts, especially in terms of forging new partnerships, encouraging dialogue and bringing to life new and existing links across communities.
