I was born in Mexico City in 1984, moved to Uruapan before I turned 2 years old. Grew up there, in a small town environment, running and playing in the dirt, climbing trees.
Then, moved back to Mexico City to pursue a Business Bachelor with major in Marketing. Looking back, this seems now like the first approach towards a creative professional life. However, at that moment, photography was still a personal hobby.
After completing my Bachelor degree, and working for a while in Mexico City, I moved to Accra, Ghana, for an internship as a Marketing and Management trainee. That year was amazing, and it also cemented my love for photography.
Going back to my hometown was great, but also challenging. After a few years working there, I realized I really wanted to turn photography into my main occupation. This eventually would lead me towards Vancouver, and Emily Carr University.
