Jessica Butler is a Vancouver based artist and designer whose work explores the merging of science and art through the experimental use of machines and digital technologies in order to extend creative potential.
She received a BFA from Concordia University in Design and Computation Art before moving to Vancouver to pursue a MAA in Visual Arts at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Proffessional experience includes work at Electronic Arts as an ID and Technical Artist; Hexagram Centre for Research-Creation in Media Arts and Technologies, SIAT SFU, and Intersections Digital Studios at ECU in arts based research including wearable computing, locative fiction and 3D printing. Her current work is primarily focused on mobile app development, installation, interactivity and visual media.
