Sara-Jeanne Bourget
Bio
Sara-Jeanne Bourget was born in Lévis, Québec in 1988. She moved to Montreal to pursue her studies in Fine Arts. In 2015, she obtained her BFA in Studio Arts at Concordia University and later moved to Vancouver to study at Emily Carr University, where she graduated with an MFA (2019). She is currently teaching drawing at Emily Carr University, as a sessional faculty.
In 2016, she took part in residency programs, in Finland, Quebec and Vermont (USA) where she exhibited her work. She received on two occasions (2017 & 2019) grants form the Elizabeth Greenshields foundation in support of her work and pursuit of her studies. In the spring of 2020, her work will be exhibited as the result of a yearlong participation in Leaning Out of Window, a SSHRC founded collaborative project between artists, scholars and physicists from TRIUMF (Canada's national particle accelerator centre). She is the recipient of the Studio Residency Award at Griffin Art Projects, taking place from August to December 2019.
