Ox - Bent intensions

description

Using aircraft plywood, students had to design a product that relates to a cultural midwinter event. Objects needed to fit in a standard sized envelope utilizing the process of laser cutting, objects were limited to two shapes, and one shape had to be bent in tension. A number of these projects would then be selected by a jury to be showcased and sold at the Wood Co-op at Grandville Island (http://www.thewoodco-op.com/), this was one of the projects chosen and used to promote the show.

This Chinese New Year coaster is intended to be a part of the traditional tea ceremony. While celebrating the New Year, tea is brought to married couples, and wishes of good fortune are given in exchange for lucky money.

As a wall ornament, the object can be hung on the walls, just like the customary banners of good fortune.

The package includes a custom sized 10 envelope mimicking lucky money envelopes, two coasters, and instructions.
