An essential element of this holiday is the Tray of Togetherness, a tray which is filled with various sweets symbolizing different fortunes and luck.

Using aircraft plywood, students had to design a product that relates to a cultural midwinter event. Objects needed to fit in a standard sized envelope utilizing the process of laser cutting, objects were limited to two shapes, and one shape had to be bent in tension. A number of these projects would then be selected by a jury to be showcased and sold at the Wood Co-op at Grandville Island (http://www.thewoodco-op.com/), this was one of the projects chosen and used to promote the show.
