Granville Island is a cultural ecosystem that houses commercial, industrial, and habitual spaces. For this project we were asked to rethink this cultural ecosystem or system that has been branded and imbedded within the island’s identity. “How can we redefine Granville Island in a way that was personal, interpersonal or broadly cultural?”
The goal was to create a new identity for Granville Island that will transform its current cultural standing with an investigation of its previously stapled one. With a mapping workshop, we gained knowledge of the island’s current culture and how their systems work. Using a transformation of this system, gains new understanding and new identifiable traits for Granville Island.
