Body Talk is a collaboration grad project between myself and a fellow communication design student, Andrea Husky. Both from personal experience and from talking to our peers over the years that Vancouver has a bit of a sociability problem. Through initial secondary research our suspicions turned out to be true and we discovered that Vancouver is perceived as a cold and unfriendly city, both by locals and outsiders. This made us sad so we set out to find a way to approach this...

Writing Dirty is a collection of erotic stories that I sourced from an online blog called "Writing Dirty" written by Jack Stratton. I wanted this monograph to be very tactile and textural. I used mine and other people's body parts to make prints on paper.

This poster was done for Advanced Typography with Peter Cocking. We had to take the contents printed on food packaging and make a poster with the name of the product, the nutritional information and the promotional copy. I chose "Annie's Homegrown Shells & White Cheddar" and stuck to the colour palate of the packaging which is yellow and purple.

This poster was done for a typography class with Celeste Martin. It involved sourcing content from amazon.com about a book of our choice; in my case I chose to look at capitalized phrases in 1984 by George Orwell. What you see is actually a photograph of laser-cut typography, which was then manipulated in photoshop and reflected. I wanted the 'tone' of the poster to be dark and imposing like the subject matter of the book.

I made this poster for a publication design class with Jen Eby. We had to create a poster around a collection of things and I chose pasta because its delicious (obviously) and comes in so many different shapes and sizes.

We had to re-imagine an existing magazine, book, website, etc. and change its visual language and/or medium for a typography class with Peter Cocking. I chose BOP Magazine, a trashy teenie bopper magazine which has misguided advice on how to talk to your crush as well as boring gossip about tween stars I've never even heard of. It was fun.
