This molecular chess set represents 32 custom molded, resin cast molecules present in critical brain functions.  Each individual molecule involved the fusing of glass and steel and submersion in a three-layer resin mold.  Each piece varies in complexity to coincide with the strength and movement of the character in the game.  The base was constructed with a semitransparent acrylic panel enclosed by a cherry wood frame.
