    With a recent increase in the popularity of backcountry skiing and snowboarding, has come an increase in avalanche incidents. This increase can likely be attributed to people going out-of-bounds without proper training or knowledge.

    Part of the problem is the lack of engaging avalanche awareness material currently on the market. As more young adults are venturing to the backcountry unprepared each winter, the need for a new approach to avalanche awareness that is readily accessible...

  • 2010

    As part of Print Production we were asked to design a series of 3 personal business cards. The files were set up to be printed on a professional press. We were able to follow the the press printing process by approving proofs and visiting Hemlock Printing Press in Vancouver during the process.

    The type specimen poster series was an assignment for Typographic Systems, in which we were given 3 typefaces from different eras. The posters are designed in the same style that the type faces were originally used in. 

  • 2009

    The goal of this project was to combine image and text in a harmonious manner. I decided to address the issue of avalanche awareness, in a booklet titled "Out-of-bounds." I was able to work with professionals at the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAC) in order to develop the text and imagery for the pamphlet.

    Snorik is a Canadian-based backcountry journal that covers topics such as environmental matters, snow business, backcountry trips and ski and snowboard history. 

    The prototype for the magazine is 12 pages in length and features a fully designed front and back cover, contents spread, 2 double page stories and a 4 page story, along with 2 designed ad mockups.
