Interlocutions
description
Interlocutions derives from research concerning the use of printmaking technologies within Northwest Coast art in relation to Indigenous literary histories. These toner-based plotter prints depict texts written in response to works by Indigenous authors that negotiate the presence of the past within contemporary life.
Expressive Literature - Grad Project (in progress)
description
(In Progress)
To tackle the alarming deficiency in current North American young adult literacy, I am proposing to redesign classical literature to be more understandable, engaging, and inspiring using expressive and possibly dynamic expressive typography. I would like to ultimately stimulate a previously lost appreciation of literature and the English language in addition to improving reading comprehension and effectuating more frequent reading.
I plan on creating a focus group with university students and testing their responses to all three types of typography: regular typography, expressive static typography, and expressive kinetic typography.
As I am currently working on this project, I will be updating my portfolio as it progresses.
