This interactive exhibition celebrates art and anthropology and the stories about masks from around the world. The exhibition continues to March 20, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Masks from the Museum of Northern British Columbia, Prince Rupert, Canada are featured in the exhibition.  The exhibition includes ancient and new masks crafted from wood, paper mache, bamboo, metals as well as combinations of plastics, textiles and ceramics and other natural and synthetic materials.

In Spring of 2012, Sam was appointed Honourary Professor, Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication. He worked with 47 First Year Students and 30 Master's students on the theme of "56 Ethnic Minority Groups of China". The First Year students expressed their ideas and reseach in the form of a scale-model that utilized image, artefacts, colour and patterns associated with each of the 56 Ethnic Minority Groups of China.

In Spring and Fall of 2011, co-curators; Associate Professor Salmah Abu Mansor, scholar and Senior Research Fellow-Institute of Ethnic Studies, National University of Malaysia, Malaysia and Sam Carter, Professor Emeritus-Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada selected applied arts from indigenous communities across Malaysia and Canada.
