This is a poster I made for the North Sea Jazz Festival art poster competition. It's an annual kind of a thing in the city of Rotterdam and it tends to attract some of the biggest names in Jazz. The most recent event saw the likes of Snoop Dogg perform and attend. My poster here was selected 9th overall during the competition and while it didn't make the winner circle (and the cash prize that was awaiting) it was still a success as far as I'm concerned.

    Oh, and the poster's concept...

This project was initiated in my Advanced Print Publications class. It saw us be assigned a random charity and in response, we were tasked with creating some sort of promotional material for it.

Mine was Shark Savers, an organization that focuses on protecting sharks from over-fishing caused by the enormous demand for shark fin soup. I chose to illustrate this into a graphic novel because of the violent nature of the content. It would allow me to at least soften the blow, while not...

In the fall of 2010, I had the opportunity to work on the Emily Carr University student publication WOO! (named after the real Emily Carr’s pet monkey) along with fellow designers and editors Briana Garelli, Nayeli Jimenez, Alley Kurgan, Justin Alm, Brayden Wambolt, Asha Lenox & Nate Welland.

Be sure to check out the digital version of the publication where you can access all the same content, albeit slightly less tactile. It was designed by Justin Alm and can...

An inforgraphic. This particular one is about showcasing the connection between how well a country does at the Olympics and how well things are going for it militarily and economically on the world stage. This is examined in relation to nations in the Warsaw Pact and NATO during the Cold War. It would appear that the better a country is doing in terms of influence and power, the more medals it racks up during the games.
