Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun Receives Prestigious Eiteljorg Fellowship for Native American Fine Art
Coast Salish artist and alumnus Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun (’83), has been awarded one of two prestigious Fellowships at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Eiteljorg Museum holds the world's foremost collection of contemporary Native American art and the Fellowships celebrate the established and emerging Native American artists of today.

Kevan Funk (’11) continues his roll at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) – this year marks the fifth straight year that Kevan has been featured at the festival.
He made his first appearance at VIFF in 2009 when his short character study, Weight, screened at the festival and this talented writer/director hasn’t missed a year at VIFF since.

Award-winning filmmaker Kevan Funk ('11) debuts his next short, Bison, at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
From the TIFF site: Set on a rural Saskatchewan ranch during the annual branding season, Bison follows a young man who heads to the country for a guys’ weekend, but is profoundly unsettled after he makes a disturbing discovery. Kevan Funk’s follow-up to Yellowhead is a disquieting study of the continued colonization of the West.

Konstantin Steshenko (’12) was awarded the Best Canadian Student Animation Award for his graduation film, Wind & Tree, at the Ottawa International Animation Festival on September 23, 2013.
Wind & Tree is a stop-motion, 2D animation crafted from felt, cotton, carpet and wire. Two forces of nature face the consequences of their impossible love in Wind & Tree, which also saw it's Canadian Premiere at this animation festival.
