Are you looking to get feedback on your portfolio work from representatives from leading art, design and media institutions from across North America?

Emily Carr hosts National Portfolio Day Saturday December 7, 2013. (*Please note, NPD will take place, regardless of the weather forecast. Plan your travel accordingly.) Our faculty will be offering informal reviews of portfolios, along with representatives from the following institutions, between 11am and 3pm:

Charles H. Scott and READ Books Join Satellite Gallery

We are extremely pleased to announce that the University's Charles H. Scott Gallery and READ Books are partners in Satellite Gallery, an experimental exhibition space in downtown Vancouver.

Satellite Gallery is a project of the Michael O’Brian Family Foundation and is shared between the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery (UBC), the Museum of Anthropology (UBC), Presentation House Gallery, and now the Charles H. Scott Gallery and READ Books!

The annual fundraiser and craft sale, TOQUE, returns for the Western Front’s 40th Anniversary with an exciting showcase of artists, designers and artisans. Many Emily Carr University faculty and alumni are represented at this year’s event, including Jen Weih, Fieldwork, Gailan Ngan, Lisa Cinar of Draw Me a Lion, and Zoe Garred of Fleet Objects.

Students and Staff Take Part in Canzine West

Join Emily Carr students and staff at Canzine West, the annual zine and independent publication fair. 

Canzine West is an opportunity for creators and admirers of indie culture to meet, swap stories, and share their wares. This year's programming includes performance art by Meaghen Buckley, third year student and a talk by  Aimée Brown, Coordinator of Youth Outreach + Recruitment, Continuing Studies.

Vancouver Art/Book Fair | Call for Submissions

The Vancouver Art/Book Fair, presented by Project Space takes place October 5 - 6, 2013, at the Vancouver Art Gallery. This festival of artists’ publishing will feature ‘local, national and international publishers of books, magazines, zines, printed ephemera and digital or other experimental forms of publication, as well as on-site programs, performances and installations.’

Emily Carr Recruitment Trip to Mexico City

Prospective students and those who wish to learn more about Emily Carr University of Art + Design are welcome to meet the Emily Carr recruitment representative during their visit to Mexico City from October 2 – 8, 2013.

Recruitment activities will include individual school visits, a CIS Institute, along with the availability for individual one-on-one meetings and portfolio reviews by appointment. All are welcome to attend the events below, as they are free and open to the public.
