Paint Looper

video

description

Group InteractiveToy project for Core Design IV. The Lego Mindstorm kit was used to prototype an interactive children's toy. The Kit also introduced our class to sensor technologies and programming languages.

The Paint Looper's actions are triggered by instruments. After a sensor inside the instrument has been activated, a resulting action is triggered (eg. paint is pushed through plastic syringes onto a previously activated spinning canvas).

Tip Top: Interactive toy for children

description

Tip Top is a collaboration project between Industrial Design students, Communication Design students, and young co-creators to create an interactive product for kids using only wood. As a collective, we created a new balancing game that encourages interaction between the children and also with their parents. The graphic elements on the board act as a point system which each ring represents a different point value.

Troobs - Children's Interactive Object

description

Created in conjunction with 4 grade 1 girls from False Creek Elementary School, Troobs is an interactive and modular kids object that integrates wooden rings, and household objects. This object promotes interaction by allowing children to manipulate and organize their toys.

‘Connecting’ was always a key aspect to our object. We wanted a visual element that would support interaction for the kids. The graphic treatment had to be simple and attractive to work well with the shape.
