Junior Arts Institute

Registration for Summer 2025 Opens Early November!

Junior Arts Institute (JAI) opens doors to meaningful experiences and connections with peers across all interests and experience levels. Each course is taught by artists, designers and industry professionals with rich experience in their field—providing young creatives with peer engagement, mentorship opportunities and a look at potential career paths.

When you join JAI, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse, accepting community where each student’s individuality is honoured and celebrated.

Whether you’re new to art and design or have a goal of attending art school, JAI is a two-week immersive program that builds foundational knowledge, explores a wide range of creative skills, and helps prepare you for the Summer Institute for Teens program.

Students will have the option to showcase their work in a public exhibition in Emily Carr's Michael O'Brian Exhibition Commons.

This program is for students ages 13-15, or who have completed Grade 7 by July 1, 2025
