Professor Landon Mackenzie exhibits Blue / Blue at Art45 in Montreal, Quebec.
 
Dominated by blue, these paintings represent natural phenomena from galactic skies to the Great North, and from our synaptic connections to our vast oceans. Characteristic of Mackenzie’s oeuvre, it is from her meticulous working with form, composition and colour that emerges a mesmerizing and magnificent universe.

Alan Storey Completes Public Art for Bellevue City Hall in Washington State

Sessional faculty member, Alan Storey, has completed Compass a historically based interactive work integrated into the architecture of Bellevue, Washington's, new City Hall. It is informed by a longstanding history of compass manufacturing in the area. The eyepiece on the balcony is linked to the front doors of the building through a 350' long Terrazzo floor. Using the front doors causes the viewers perspective and focus to shift to the left or right, depending on which door is used.

Sheila Hall + Sam Carter | Chinatown: Past, Present, Future - Archives Project

Emily Carr University of Art and Design Foundation students participated in Creative Processes and Drawing assignments to create works inspired by sixteen specific Chinatown historic sites. The students researched visual images and written documentation at the Vancouver Archives, visited the actual sites, and gathered local research based on their senses; seeing, smelling, tasting and touching the beauty, surprises, objects and issues relevant to the Chinatown environment.

Liz will be in conversation with Ruth Ozeki discussing the urban landscape, the construction of the natural world and the artist's relationship to this place and the land.

Assistant Professor, Julie York, showcases her sculptures in an exhibit entitled REFLECTIONNOITCELFER at Pentimenti Gallery in Philadelphia, PA.

Julie's work explores visual relations and ways of seeing. It presents objects and their images as both static and in flux, developing the interaction between objects and images in a transitional space.

Social + Interactive Media Centre Faculty Releases for Fall 2010

The Social + Interactive Media Centre (formerly the Centre for Moving Interaction) will hold an information session for all faculty interested in developing SIM Centre projects and applying for course releases for the fall of 2010.
