Centigrade - Jonathan Tyrrell

Centigrade, a short film edited by Associate Professor Jonathan Tyrrell, premiered at the Montréal Film Festival in the World Competition, and the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films.

The film is also part of the Vancouver International Film Festival and will be screened Sunday, October 7 at 9pm and Monday, October 8 at 4:30pm.

FUSE Goes Live with Chef Hedda Cabbage

Hors d'oeuvres literally means "outside the work" or appetizers served before or outside of the main dishes of a meal. Expanding upon the implications of this, Chef Hedda Cabbage (aka, Randy Lee Cutler) will serve up food, stories and anecdotes of local west coast cuisine highlighting what is often not digested with traditional consumption. She will forage the landscape and consider the broader implications of food or what belongs to the space and time of sustenance.

Ron Terada Receives Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award

Ron Terada, ECI sessional faculty and 1991 graduate, was awarded a 2006 Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award from the Canada Council for the Arts on March 14 at a ceremony at the Contemporary Art Gallery // BC Binning Gallery (the award was announced in October 2006).

The annual awards, worth $15,000 each, recognize outstanding mid-career artists in the seven disciplines funded by the Canada Council: music, theatre, dance, visual arts, media arts, writing and publishing and interdisciplinary arts.
