A Green Dress

description

Do objects remember? Or are they wrapped in the memories we bring to them, like layers of stories folded around a picture, a voice, or a worn-out shoe? In this exhibit, created to complement ひろしま hiroshima by Ishiuchi Miyako, opening in The Audain Gallery on October 13, visitors are invited to experience selected objects and media from MOA’s worldwide collection. Some are ancient, some are new. Some are inscribed with their histories, while others are uprooted – their origins, makers, and journeys erased or forgotten. Some, like the green dress of the title, speak to memories and relationships not contained by the Museum but still part of living communities.

Branding and curation design for the Emily Carr University of Art & Design Design 4th year design exhibition. 
For the theme of the show we came up with the idea for floating forms suspended in time. This reflected the way we, 
as fourth years felt about the beginning of our last year. Taking from the aesthetics of the design department and 
the name of the show we came up with a floating form, a concrete ball. This idea of suspension was continued into the
exhibition design with a hanging poster suspended in the gallery.

Manifest! - An exhibit of the story of how anime & toys become an art form

This project is an exhibit design telling the story of anime and toys. Designer Vinyls and anime collectables are gaining irreplacable spots in the market as they tap into the hearts of fans and collectors of toys. How did it happen? When has this transition from a cheap 5 cent plastic figure transform into a multi-hundred dollar piece of art? In the artistic world, many do not consider Anime being art, but this is about to be changed. Through the design of five different rooms, this project outlines and illustrates the uprise of toys. It tells the story of how the fine line between anime and art blurred
