This project posed the unique challenge of designing a cookbook without images. The hand illustrated headings and title pages are inspired by 1950’s window lettering, while selective colour creates hierarchy within the recipes.

During the school break, I wrote down some design-related thoughts or things that inspired me each day. This journal focuses on finding a lesson from each day and expressing the words typographically. Type was playfully hand-rendered by simple markers to express a fun, but personalized nature of the content.
Typographic Cookbook

Created for Complex Typography we were asked to design a cookbook using purely typography. I developed a calm and sophisticated visual flow for the piece with variation throughout the different sections to create interest.
