SameRoad is an online application that utilizes technology to connect individuals to their local Christian communities, by identifying, informing, and illuminating the beauty of the Christian churches.
olive display

Given the task of creating a modular display typeface, I thought of ways in which I could go the opposite of current trends. Observing that one prominent trends was angular modifications to geometric sans serif fonts, I figured that the opposite would be something circular or organic. From this thinking stemmed Olive Display; a friendly, sophisticated modular typeface.
Skins
description
Skins was created in a third year print production class. The aim of the project was create a self directed publication and bring it to print. I focused on content of the publication on virtual themes, specifically surrounding second life. I worked to create a strong virtual aethestic to highlight the uncanny relationship of a printed publication dealing with exclusive online content. The publication was designed in two formats, newspaper and poster.

Discovering Typography is a publication made to hold four articles on the history of typography. Each chapter represents the year the article was created so it shows a chronological order of how typography developed and evolved through different individuals. It start off with an article by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti Destruction of Syntax- imagination without strings, followed by Jan Tschild's New life in print, Beatrice Warde's The Crystal Goblet, and it ends with Herbert Bayer's article Towards Universal Type. This publication focuses on the importance of the historic date and how the design of typography can correlate to spirit of the time.

This photographic series is a convergence of installation and typography. Each of the five compositions represent a virtue from Benjamin Franklins list of 13 virtues. The objects in the installation symbolically relate to theme of personal growth. Each unique composition is reflective of its virtue, which is communicated through the typography.
Superorganism

During my exchange semester at WdKA, our core design project was to research the effects of the art and culture financial cutbacks in the Netherlands. In response to the crisis, I decided to research on the idea of open source design.
As a result of my research of various case studies, I decided to create a series of publication designed to educate the audience the success of open source design and how it may be effective in times of financial cutbacks.
