Typographic Music Poster • Imagine Dragons

description

In the world of music, not only can the spoken word be emotive & evocative—it can also be expressed and brought alive through typography. This typographic poster was inspired by musical sensation, Imagine Dragons' On Top of the World, and brings to light the colourful and uplifting landscape of the song piece. Situated atop an oceanic gradient, it has been designed to allow the eye to follow the lyrics through a deep sea journey.

This project was an event campaign for Gordon's Park's event "Meteors, Northern Lights and the Heavens Above". The concept designed for this event was "A Different Kind of Dark", contrasting the night sky of urban cities with the unparalled dark sky of Gordon's Park. Collateral included posters, handbills, mail-out invitations and window decals/installations.

The Forgotten & Resurrected Ligature

description

As my entry for a class run 'Pop-Up Museum of Typographie' I chose to direct my attention to the underappreciated typographic ligature. Through two specimen posters and a short collection of essays, my goal was to raise awareness about the ligature's role in typographic history, as well as their modern usage.

Puppets

description

Puppetry is an art form where a person subtly controls a human-like doll to create entertainment for others. But the puppetry represented in this poster is a dysfunctional one. The strings to control the puppets are not attached to their limbs, they are actually strangling them to death. Instead of a scene of laughter and joy, it is one that is shocking and disturbing.
