concerning the spiritual in indie rock
description
I was asked to design a magazine spread for the article Concerning the Spiritual in Indie Rock. After familiarizing myself with its content, I decided it would be more creative, interesting, and appropriate to design a traditional scroll. Both the illustrations and background image/texture is custom made. This was a great lesson in designing for the content.

Elysium Print Publication
description
This print publication features the author Sean Labrador Y Manzano’s article called Elysium: Where are we when the wild things are?. I created this publication with hand-drawn illustrations to reflect the narrative and emotions experienced in the article. The content the author expressess are evocative, layered thoughts that taps in to the psychology of his emotions and characteristics. This inspired the art direction of this publication to be adaptations of the rorschach inkblot cards. The feature pages of reflective thoughts are printed on vellum and illustrations are created with watercolours and ink.
Canadian Coat of Arms
description
The design concept of my Canadian Crest is a contemporary digital illustration inspired by traditional iconography, symbols and crests. The new Coat of Arms uses colours, heraldry forms and symbols to represent Canadian Design. I have included a sceptre to symbolize justice and Canada’s imperial influences. The wreath is abstracted as feathers directly above mantling. The helm and mantle was originally designed to protect the head and shoulders of the wearer so I included a RCMP hat and scarf with Canada’s official maple leaf tartan.
Moby Mobile Redesign
description
For this project, I rebranded and designed the Moby mobile application to create a great mobile user experience . Moby is a private location-sharing app for the people who matter most to you created by GPS and location-based services applications expert Contigo. This project focused on notes from initial stakeholder that created this and research about current app and user behaviours of location tracking device. With various personas, scenarios, userflows, wireframes, prototypes and mockups along the process, I created illustrations in a different art direction for the user interface that also introduced new concepts (i.e. scheduler) for Moby Mobile.
