AU Magazine

description

Publication design for a fictional magazine about the science of astronomy and its relation to other areas of interest, such as art, fashion and literature. The magazine was named AU, for astronomical units, a unit of measure in astronomy. This project combined two of my most passionate interests: print design and astronomy. The magazine is intended for youth and young adults, and tries to break conventions by incorporating a motif of diagonal lines throughout the publication.

Sight & Sound

description

This book takes the two vital parts of senses, and seeks to find the interrelations between graphic design and music.

Many elements of graphic design are akin to the elements found in music: technical aspects such as line, space, scale, colour, grids and patterns can be paralleled with elements of music such as pitch, rhythm and dynamics. With this unique correlation, we were able to give form to musical elements or translate music back to the graphic. Each grouping of the design pieces throughout the book tells a definite narrative that reflects the era and country to which it belongs. A group project with Vince Lo, and Eunji Choi.
