Evolve is a type specimen book about three eras of typographic specimens. These three type specimen spreads demonstrate the use of type and layout that reflected upon a specific time period that the typeface orginates from. This project showcases the various eras of typographic styles and composition that ranged from the baroque, industrial and neohumanist eras that features Janson, Clarendon and Scala Sans.

This project conceptualizes the Makeup Makeovers Beauty Bible by Robert Jones in the form of an ehanced ebook to to interact with the user for a customized makeup experience. This ebook is for an audience interested in learning about cosmetics and its techniques and applications. I reconceptualized this book to integrate features for the viewer to incorporate their beauty profile and cosmetics in their possession. Also, the reading experience is customized to cater to the reader’s preferences, unique beauty features and they can share looks, reviews or tips on social platforms too.

The university produces an annual research journal called Current with the The university produces an annual research journal called Current with the purpose of sharing articles by both faculty and students that discuss design research at Emily Carr.  This large team project resulted in the third edition of both a print and digital publication.

As a co-art director I worked to guide the publication toward visually dynamic shapes and editorial photography, to improve upon the areas that were lacking in the volume before. I wanted to capture the vibrant design research community at Emily Carr and created dynamic, academic, and engaging set of publications to express this.

We had to re-imagine an existing magazine, book, website, etc. and change its visual language and/or medium for a typography class with Peter Cocking. I chose BOP Magazine, a trashy teenie bopper magazine which has misguided advice on how to talk to your crush as well as boring gossip about tween stars I've never even heard of. It was fun.

Pixi Magazine is a gaming magazine targeted towards women that aims to include them in the sometimes exclusive technology community. It uses bright and colourful visual language reminiscent of 8bit video games.
