CanGuide Application Design

description

Canguide was developed while on Exchange at the HfG Scwäbisch Gmünd, with input from a number of Cancer survivors. It has a variety of features which allow patients to track information and manage tasks that are essential to their health, but are not directly part of their medical care. This includes tracking of pain severity and length, times and kinds of medication taken, tracking emotional state through a diary feature and managing the preparation of appropriate meals through the recipe feature.

Wireframes and concept sketching. Pages built with Fireworks and online prototype assembled with tutorial- html, css, php.

Universal Translator: Invention Design

description

Through its window mode, text mode, and speech mode, it allows the user to have a better understanding of the world around them. Highly intuitive, modeled on early-learning concepts of language development, relating closely with the highly popular Rosetta Stone application.

In Window Mode you look through the screen out onto the world, identifying objects which are then relayed to the user. A Wiki of information is available as provided by people living in the areas the translator is attempting to navigate.

In Text Mode you simply translate text phrases. Translate signs, papers, or any other lettered material. Again a Wiki of information is used, and like Wikipedia, a staff of moderators ensures non-vandalized, true info.

Sixty° home

description

The 60 Degree home is a 160 square foot design which makes use of a new building technique that utilizes Cross Laminated Timber. The targeted user groups were students and recent immigrants- groups with lower income who had recently arrived in the community. We designed an affordable home in the context of a multiple-home arrangement which encourages community engagement and pride in one’s self and home.

The design process was comprised of iterative physical modeling with some user research as a driver. Field trips to different wood processing and modeling facilities informed our work, and weekly review sessions with our Professor and peers helped us to remain on track.

EH Originals

description

EH Originals

I was two years old when a loaded paint brush and a plain blue t-shirt were placed in front of me and EH Originals sold its very first textile creation. A monster was created. Since then, far too many times have I found myself exclaiming delightedly, “So... I have this great idea!” although never ones to doubt or discourage, I am given the same amused grins, skeptical eyes, and sighs of ‘here we go again’ by my loved ones. Now focusing mainly on custom Sterling Silver Jewellery and re-purposing furniture items, check out EH Originals ofter as you never know what projects and ideas might come next! All of my products are playfully created with the individual in mind. Designs that are without exception always original and forever unique.

Sight & Sound

description

This book takes the two vital parts of senses, and seeks to find the interrelations between graphic design and music.

Many elements of graphic design are akin to the elements found in music: technical aspects such as line, space, scale, colour, grids and patterns can be paralleled with elements of music such as pitch, rhythm and dynamics. With this unique correlation, we were able to give form to musical elements or translate music back to the graphic. Each grouping of the design pieces throughout the book tells a definite narrative that reflects the era and country to which it belongs. A group project with Vince Lo, and Eunji Choi.

Included in each poster is the designers name, a short blurb about the font, each letter of the alphabet allong with some punctuation and is created in the original style and use (of the font) from its era of creation. Casalingo

images

description

Logo design for an Italian eatery that uses inhouse handmade ingredients and serves comfy homecooked meals.

The name Casalingo represents handmade in Italian and the design is inspired by the gestural sign/hand laguage of Italian culture. The icon borrows from the gesture "Pefectto" meaning perfect.
