Innovations in Game Development (CSGD 101)

Journey through the game industry's timeline to learn about major milestones, trends, creators and innovations that have shaped one of today's largest media industries. Through discussions, presentations and research, this course will lead you through industry shaping events, lawsuits, people, and technologies to discover their impact on the games in each era. By the end of this course, you will trace the evolution and locate the current context of the game industry, understand different constraints that can both hinder progress and generate space for new ideas, and identify key people whose designs pushed and continue to shape the industry.

Upon successfully completing this course, students will receive a digital skills badge.
