This project-based workshop introduces students to strategies for preparing and submitting successful applications for artist grants, residencies, or exhibitions. Students will familiarize themselves with various funding resources such as the BC Arts Council Assistance Program and the Canada Council Project Grants for Artists, and be guided to turn concepts into thorough and compelling application packages. Related financial planning, proposals, and documentation such as budgets, contracts, and invoices will be examined.
This course is offered online (synchronous) and on campus.
Instructional Hours: 12 hours (4 classes, 3 hours per class)
Additional Hours: up to 12 hours for independent study and practice, assignment completion and homework.
